Classes and Workshops

Tech and craft-related classes and workshops are offered each month on a rotational basis (upcoming classes listed below). Registration is required for all classes and workshops (register by calling 607-733-9175 or visiting the Steele Memorial Library Reference Desk). All classes and workshops are free and intended for ages 10+ unless otherwise specified.

Photo Restoration Workshop

Learn photo restoration techniques you can use to bring life back to old family photographs. Bring one or two family photos to work on during the workshop (digital photos work best). If you have a physical photograph or slide, please contact us before the workshop to get it scanned ahead of time.

Blender Basics

An introduction to the 3D graphics software Blender. This class covers navigation of the user interface and how to implement some of its more commonly used tools for creating 3D models.

Granite Engraving Workshop

Engrave a special photo or design on a piece of black granite (6″x6″). Bring a photo to use (digital photos work best).

Basic Video Editing

Learn the basics of video editing in this crash course using Adobe Premier Elements. This class is held in the Steele Memorial Library Tech Lab.

Introduction to Inkscape

Learn how to create designs using Inkscape (free, open-source software). This class is held in the Steele Memorial Library Tech Lab.

Digital Media Lab Certification at Steele

Become certified to use the Digital Media Lab. You must have a parent present if you are under 16. Once you have completed the certification class, you can use the Digital Media Lab at Steele independently.

3D Printer Certification at Steele

Become certified in the use of the 3D printers at the CCLD Makerspace in the Steele Memorial Library. Completion of the certification process will allow you to use the 3D printers independently. Anyone under the age of 16 will be supervised in the use of the 3D printer.
