Classes and Workshops

Tech and craft-related classes and workshops are offered each month on a rotational basis (upcoming classes listed below). Registration is required for all classes and workshops (register by calling 607-733-9175 or visiting the Steele Memorial Library Reference Desk). All classes and workshops are free and intended for ages 10+ unless otherwise specified.

Summer Maker Camp

Classes

Introduction to 3D Printing

Learn about the process of 3D printing and what you can make with a 3D printer! This class is held in the Tech Lab at the Steele Memorial Library.

Blender Basics for 3D Design

An introduction to the 3D graphics software Blender. This class covers navigation of the user interface and how to implement some of its more commonly used tools for creating 3D models. This class is held in the Tech Lab at the Steele Memorial Library.

Image Editing Using GIMP

Learn to edit digital images using GIMP (free and open source software). This class is held in the Tech Lab at the Steele Memorial Library.

Marble Engraving Workshop

Engrave a special photo or design on white marble. Bring a photo or design to use (digital photos work best). This workshop is held in the Tinker Lab at the Steele Memorial Library.

Digital Media Lab Certification at Steele

Become certified to use the Digital Media Lab. You must have a parent present if you are under 16. Once you have completed the certification class, you can use the Digital Media Lab at Steele independently.

3D Printer Certification at Steele

Become certified in the use of the 3D printers at the CCLD Makerspace in the Steele Memorial Library. Completion of the certification process will allow you to use the 3D printers independently. Anyone under the age of 16 will be supervised in the use of the 3D printer.
