All classes and workshops are free and recommended for ages 10+ unless otherwise specified.
Media Conversion: Digitize Your Memories
Preserve the memories stored on your slides, 8mm & Super-8 films, and VHS tapes by using CCLD Makerspace’s media converters to create digital copies. This class offers instruction on the converter(s) of your choice, so that you are able to use them independently. A valid library card is required in order to use the converters.
3D Design with Blender
An introduction to the 3D graphics software Blender. This class covers navigation of the user interface and how to implement some of its more commonly used tools for creating 3D models.
Blender for 3D Printing
Discover how to use Blender to repair or modify 3D models from services like Thingiverse and how to prepare a 3D model for 3D printing.
Image Editing Using GIMP
Learn to edit digital images using GIMP (free and open source software).
Introduction to 3D Printing
Learn about the process of 3D printing and what you can make with a 3D printer.
Introduction to Inkscape
Create designs using the free, open-source software Inkscape.
Introduction to Laser Engraving
Learn about the Tinker Lab’s laser cutter & engraver and see a demonstration of how it works!
Photo Restoration Workshop
Learn photo restoration techniques you can use to bring life back to old family photographs. Bring one or two family photos to work on during the workshop (digital photos work best).
3D Printer Certification
Become certified in the use of the 3D printers at the CCLD Makerspace in the Steele Memorial Library. Completion of the certification process will allow you to use the 3D printers independently. Anyone under the age of 16 will be supervised in the use of the 3D printers.
Laser Certification
Learn to use CCLD Makerspace’s Epilog laser cutter and engraver. Certification will cover both use of CorelDraw for creating designs to send to the laser as well as how to operate the laser.
Certification courses are for anyone 16 and up (anyone under 16 will require supervision to use equipment).
Digital Media Lab Certification
Become certified in the use of the Digital Media Lab in the Steele Memorial Library. Completion of the certification process will allow you to use the lab and check out audio and/or video equipment independently. Anyone under the age of 14 must be supervised by an adult certified to use of the lab.
