CCLD Makerspace is a free community space at the Steele Memorial Library in Elmira, NY where people of all ages come to create and learn about technology and crafts. Use your imagination and our equipment to make your creative ideas come alive.
CCLD Makerspace is offering curbside-only service starting October 26 and continuing for at least 2 weeks, or until the COVID-19 orange cluster zone in Elmira is downgraded to yellow.
When permitted, we will resume one-hour Makerspace appointments. At that time, to comply with social distancing guidelines, we will only be allowing one person per appointment. Individuals will be able to make up to two appointments per week, and bookings must be made 24 hours in advance.

CCLD Makerspace continues to offer face shields. Due to an increase in demand, we are limiting our future face shield distribution to Chemung County, and we are no longer able to offer free face shields to non-profits. Face shields are available to non-healthcare organizations or individuals for $2.00 per face shield.
Requests for face shields may be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your name, organization (if applicable), number of face shields requested, and a phone number that we can contact you at when the face shields are ready to pick up.
Face shields should not be used as a substitute for masks and are meant to provide additional protection for at risk individuals.
Our makerspace is free and open to the public. While use of the space and most of the tools is free, we charge a minimal fee for materials to cover our cost and the maintenance of equipment.
