CCLD Makerspace is a free community space at the Steele Memorial Library in Elmira, NY where people of all ages come to create and learn about technology and crafts. Use your imagination and our equipment to make your creative ideas come alive.
We are open by appointment for one-hour sessions (maximum of two people per session):
- 12:00pm–7:00pm Monday–Thursday
- 12:00pm–4:00pm Friday
We take 3D printing orders online and process them in the order that they are received. When your print is finished and ready to pick up, we will contact you (curbside pickup is available if desired).

CCLD Makerspace continues to offer face shields. Due to an increase in demand, we are limiting our future face shield distribution to Chemung County, and we are no longer able to offer free face shields to non-profits. Face shields are available to non-healthcare organizations or individuals for $2.00 per face shield.
Requests for face shields may be sent to email@example.com. Please include your name, organization (if applicable), number of face shields requested, and a phone number that we can contact you at when the face shields are ready to pick up.
Face shields should not be used as a substitute for masks and are meant to provide additional protection for at risk individuals.
Our makerspace is free and open to the public. While use of the space and most of the tools is free, we charge a minimal fee for materials to cover our cost and the maintenance of equipment.
