CCLD Makerspace is a free community space at the Steele Memorial Library in Elmira, NY where people of all ages come to create and learn about technology and crafts. Combine your imagination with our equipment to make your creative ideas come alive.
Featured Activity: Flying Crafts
In March, CCLD Makerspace is featuring two quick and easy crafts that can be made with two accessible materials: straws and paper. Stop by the CCLD Makerspace Activity Area located outside the Tinker Lab to participate. Crafts include: simple helicopters and straw airplanes. Participants are encouraged to make modifications and try their own designs using the building materials. Additional craft materials will be provided for decoration. Supplies are limited.
Regular Hours:
- 12:00pm–7:00pm Monday–Thursday
- 12:00pm–4:00pm Friday & Saturday
We are open for walk-in visits, but we recommend making a reservation ahead of time if you need to use a certain piece of equipment (laser engraver, X-Carve CNC, etc.).
Not sure what to 3D print? Find designs to print at Thingiverse.com (we prefer .STL files).
Please note: equipment may not be used to make weapons or weapon-related objects (real or fake) or objects deemed inappropriate by the Makerspace staff.
Our makerspace is free and open to the public. While use of the space and most of the tools is free, we charge a minimal fee for materials to cover our cost and the maintenance of equipment.
